Shopsin on Conan

Just because I'm on the Shopsin kick, he was somewhat recently on Conan and it was pretty hilarious.

House of Cards

So Radiohead was the musical guest on Conan O'Brien. It's uncanny, this abominable adoration for Thom Yorke. I mean I respect them as musicians, and Pablo Honey and The Bends are probably some of my favorite albums ever, but Listening to In Rainbows I feel like maybe I'm missing something. I think it has a lot to do with the build up my friends give them everytime they talk about the R-head.

Although I admire a musician's will to experiment and venture out, it doesn't necessarily mean I have to agree or like what they do. Take Billy Corgan post-Adore, for example. I love Billy to death, probably one of the most, if not THE most, influential musician in my life, but everything he's done afte Adore, in my humble opinion, is mediocre at best and lacks the spirit his previous works contained.

In any event, Radiohead's performance was actually entertaining even if they didn't perform live at Conan's studio.

Apocalyspe Now. [Rachel Ray Cartoons]

Oprah's company, Harpo Productions, apparently is working on an animated series of Satan's spawn, Rachel Ray, as a young "chef".
Now, I'm not sure how I feel about this one, but to be quite honest, an animated version of Rachael might be easier on the eyes. Then again, it'll still be her voice. [Slashfood]
Set to debut in 2009, first she will brainwash your children, then she will eat them. Someone put a stop to this. Now! Kthx.

Some Things Are Meant for HD. Some Some Things Aren't.

[Gridskipper]

So. Um. Well. This is awkward. Uh...Nice weather we're having!

Anthony, when we said we loved you, we were not projecting any kind of actual physical or sexual tension. At least not any that would actually involve taking your clothes off. I guess it's okay this time, since he was totally hungover after a night of heavy drinking and hard drugs. As only our favorite chef is capable of!

Is this enticing? Does this make ANYONE--even longtime convicts--feel compelled to tune in? Some Things May Indeed Be Better in HD. My puffy, drink ravaged face and 51 year old naked torso would NOT be one of them. [Anthony's Blog]
Lucky for you we find self-deprecation charming.

Emeril Goes Green.

omg. he looks so sad

Although I'm not a huge fan of his work, I do have to admit this is a pretty good idea, if anything for the support of greener food enterprises and for the recipes (you are free to shop where you most like). Apparently after the end of Emeril's last season on the Food Network, he went crazy and sold out his Emeril cooking line (or most of it anyhow) to Martha Stewart.

Now he's back as Emeril Green, and this time he will be cooking from inside a Whole Foods store using all organic, free-range products. Sounds interesting and very similar to something I had been talking about earlier today. [Slashfood via Ecorazzi and Treehugger]

You may never see me again

In an attempt to beat Apple before it strikes with a similar service, Netflix removes time limit restrictions from their "Watch Instantly" service, which offers pure, unadulterated television. Commercial free at that. (Emphasis mine)
Netflix customers will have unlimited access to a library of 6,000 titles; including episodes of the popular NBC series "Heroes," "The Office" and "30 Rock." [Businessweek]

Emphasis there to chronologically journal my entire day yesterday. Whatever little productivity I had going on after kicking the TV habit is in jeopardy here. Now, the paranoia sets in. I really do think they are out to get me. You know. They.

Ave Maria Purisima, may God be with us all. The end is upon us.

TV Guide on Bourdain

TV Guide interviews Anthony Bourdain on his new Travel Channel Series, He goes on to talk more about the Food Network rerunning his Old show with them. [via Slashfood]

TVGuide.com: Guy Fieri maybe?
Bourdain: Guy Fieri... did you ever see the Simpsons episode where it's decided that Itchy and Scratchy need a sidekick? So a committee gets together and they invent one called Poochie.... Guy Fieri kind of looks like he's been designed by committee. [TV Guide]

OMG. I love this guy.
